Nature safaris around Loch Ewe in the northwest Scottish Highlands

Take a safari with us in 2022 to discover the natural environment and biodiversity of the Loch Ewe area.

The more you look, the more you see!

"Safari" is the Swahili word for "journey" and that's exactly what our safaris are - a journey of discovery. We don't do "tick lists" or guarantee to see a
particular species - wildlife is wild, and doesn't turn up to order! Our passion is in showing our guests the incredible diversity of nature around the Loch Ewe area. Our safaris explore the rare lichens, mosses, ferns and fungi of the area, search for dragonflies and damselflies and soak up the views of lochs and mountains. If we're lucky we'll see bird life from warblers to waders, and we might even catch a glimpse of a white-tailed sea eagle, red squirrel, otter, red deer or pine marten. Come with an open mind ready to experience nature in all its glory, and you won't be disappointed.

Explore our website for details of our scheduled and bespoke safaris.

We are based in the little village of Poolewe in Wester Ross in the northwest Highlands of Scotland. We run safaris around the Loch Ewe area, shown on the map.

There are a variety of habitats including marine, coastal, moorland and forest, with different flora and fauna associated with each, so there is plenty to see.

All our safaris are walking safaris. The best way to get up close to nature is on foot, but you don't have to be a super-fit explorer - some of our safaris just involve sitting quietly and observing. Our shortest walking safari is just one hour on flat, tarred paths. For those who are a bit more adventurous we have safaris up to a day long exploring the wilds off the beaten track.
