FAQs
If your question is not answered below please contact us.
Do you run safaris all year round?
We only schedule safari dates from April to September but we are available for bespoke safaris all year round - please contact us with your requirements.
Why can I only see safari dates for the next couple of weeks or so?
We only set up our dates a couple of weeks or so in advance so that we can make best use of the weather and tide conditions and work around other commitments. If you'd like to book a safari for a later date please contact us. We can schedule in a safari to suit you or set up a bespoke one.
How much do your standard safaris cost?
The price per adult is shown in the description of each safari. Children under 16 are free but must be accompanied by an adult.
How much do your bespoke safaris cost?
We charge a set price of £40 per hour to take up to 8 guests, plus any travel expenses. For larger groups please contact us.
How do we pay for a safari?
Our online booking system takes payment through Paypal, credit or debit card or Apple Pay.
How many people can you take on a safari?
We normally limit the number of guests on our standard safaris to 8. If you would like to arrange a safari for a larger group please contact us.
Can you take children on your safaris?
We welcome children under 16 free of charge but they must be accompanied by an adult please.
Can you take dogs on your safaris?
We can take dogs on our scheduled safaris as long as any other safari guests are happy to have them along. We are happy to take dogs on our bespoke safaris. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead.
Are any of your safaris suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs?
A couple of safaris are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Please look at the safari descriptions or contact us to discuss your requirements.
Where do your safaris start from?
Different safaris start in different places around the Loch Ewe area. Your booking confirmation will give full details of where and when to meet.
What do we need to bring?
Suitable clothes for the Wester Ross weather (i.e. anything from sunshine to snow!). Some of the paths are rough and uneven so please wear stout shoes or boots. For longer safaris you might like to bring along a drink and snack. If you have binoculars please feel free to bring them but we can lend you a pair if you don't have your own.
What is your cancellation policy?
If we have to cancel a safari for any reason we will let you know as soon as possible and issue a full refund. If you need to cancel a safari please contact us and we will refund your payment minus the cancellation fee for our online booking system.
Do you cancel if the weather is bad?
If the weather is really bad we would probably cancel the safari because it would limit the amount we could see and it's not much fun being outside in lashing rain and gales! However we don't usually cancel safaris just because of a bit of rain or cold weather. What we usually do is modify the safari according to the weather conditions, for example we might spend more time inside a viewing hide or in sheltered woodlands rather than out in the open.
Can you guarantee to see certain species?
There are no guarantees. Wildlife is wild, and doesn't turn up to order. We take you to the places where our local wildlife lives and we will give you lots of information and tips so that you can also go and look for yourself, but if you're just wanting to tick a bucket list then our safaris are not for you!
