Safari Description

Rua Reidh Lighthouse is at the very tip of the Inverasdale peninsula, looking out onto the Minch and the Atlantic. We'll do a circuit of the headland, looking out for seabirds such as gannets, puffins and shags, and in season try to spot whales, dolphins and basking sharks from the shore. On the moorland we'll explore the biodiversity of the blanket bog and the fascinating species that live there. The walk is about 3 miles and will take around 3 hours allowing us plenty of time to stop and observe. The walk is partly along the cliff top so you'll need a head for heights (although we can divert inland a little if necessary). It's very rough underfoot so not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. You'll need to wear good walking boots.
