Safari Description

An easy 90 minute walk along the tarred path beside the River Ewe at Poolewe, suitable for all ages, and for wheelchairs and pushchairs. We'll look out for ducks and dippers, herons and cormorants, and we might even be lucky enough to see an otter or seal fishing at the river mouth. You'll hear the story of the Atlantic salmon and their amazing journey from the Arctic to the River Ewe to breed. We might even see some salmon on their way up the river. Along the riverside we'll look at a couple of interesting historical sites as well. Parking is available in the Riverside car park by Poolewe bridge, where the walk starts and finishes.
